Future Nostalgia (2011)

Future Nostalgia reflects upon the past and present culture of domesticity.  These small sets offer a psychological backdrop to the uncanny narratives within the familiar spaces of the home.  Here the domestic is addressed in terms of a dream, a battleground or a memory, through a juxtaposition of movement and stillness.  By using only objects in real space and without digital manipulation, these images provide contradictions of the real and the unreal, in which the whimsical nature of the illusion is brought together. Images are 20 x 30 in., inkjet on archival matte.
